well, um, ***crickets***
none. because they didn't get to SEE the speech. can you believe that?!
apparently the recording the school was showing was of terrible quality and was just an orange screen. and not even the President's voice was heard.
bethany was SO disappointed. tonight she had on her obama tshirt and was flipping the channels trying to find the speech. hopefully it'll be on you tube.
i can't decide if i should be mad, sad or mortified at how crappy the situation was at their school?
but maybe it was a conspiracy...just kidding. sort of.

Bummer! My boys saw it. They were so excited! They can't remember a word he said but they saw the President! The principal sent home a note that said out of 550 students only 276 got to see the broadcast because the rest didn't return their permission slips. Slips weren't sent home until Friday. A lot of parents probably forgot to send it after the holiday. Apparently it wouldn't have even been shown at our school because they didn't even know about it until last week! They didn't get sent the packets of activities or anything from the Dept. of Ed. My boys' principal said, "The irony of the whole thing is that the address would likely have slipped right by us if not for the controversy. I probably need to thank someone in talk radio of raising awareness."
I just think this may have set a very sad precident. Are we going to have to sign a permission slip now every time a guest speaker comes to school or everytime a broadcast of any kind is shown?
